In response to the person who wrote complaining about “Poor Teachers.” If you have a problem with teacher’s salaries, all you have to do is convince the NY Department of Education to remove the requirement for teachers to have bachelor and masters degrees…that teachers go into tens of thousands of dollars of school loan debt to obtain. Then NYSED could hire anyone off the street, pay them minimum wage, and hand them a curriculum to read verbatim to children in class. While complaining about teacher’s salaries, don’t forget state troopers, correction officers and the myriad of state employees who make as much or more than teachers without having to earn degrees like teachers do. They also get paid vacations, clothing allowances and paid overtime.
