In response to the “Brake Checking” which appeared in the July 23-29 issue of North Country This Week: I drive the speed limit and do not brake check. If the posted limit is 45 I set my cruise to 45. I don't pay attention to what is behind me because I have no control over that. As for a trooper telling anyone that it is ok to drive 5 to 10 miles over the limit; I find that if it did happen that is not what the law wants to hear. I'll keep driving the way I have and I get where I am going in a timely manner. If you find yourself having to speed to get to work or some other place on time, try leaving a little earlier.
