Enough with the whining about St. Mary’s cemetery in Potsdam. Sure, it wasn’t handled completely the way it could have been. Move on – rules are needed in public cemeteries. If you look up rules for other cemeteries, you will see some are much more strict. All through life we have rules and regulations to follow. The continued rhetoric is hurtful. It seems you want and need to call attention to yourselves. There are many who are happy to see the cemetery cleaned up. Many are afraid to stand up to the bullying nature of this continued saga. Let it go now. If you want to honor your loved ones, there are so many other ways. Plant a garden at home with your loved one’s favorite flowers. In this way, you will be able to enjoy it every day. Bake or prepare a favorite food dish of his or hers. Sing songs your loved ones enjoyed. Share memories of family get-togethers. Have a mass said in their honor. Take a more active part in the parish community. All the churches in Potsdam welcome and need more active participation. I’m sure God doesn’t want you to linger over this. It’s not good for your health and wellbeing. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
