The Massena Labor Day parade was a successful joint effort to show unity. But I watched my father give it his best going past the judges’ stand alone while everyone else had left him behind and the next generation rode in a truck? Lets go back and remember if it wasn’t for the older members alive or deceased there wouldn’t be a union in Massena. They are the ones that went on strike for weeks at a time, went to jail and their families literally went without. They sacrificed family, money, and their career because they believed and understood that without sacrifice the future generation would have nothing. Now that generation has shown no thanks or respect for the men and women that handed them what they have today. Its all about “me, me, me.” This union is not what it represents.
