Our family completely agrees with the ghost town theory (“I-98 Ghost Towns,” Jan. 12-18). The road will wipe out the small businesses in the small towns, replacing them with even more Walmarts and big box stores at every interchange. It’ll be goodbye to the little Main streets and town neighborhoods and hello to suburbia. They should spend the money on routes 11, 37 and 56 and repair them.
