We want to make a plea to the Amish people, especially to those who refuse to use a slow moving vehicle emblem and adequate lighting on buggies. We automobile drivers do not want to hit, injure, or kill you. Nor do we want to be injured or arrested because we simply could not see you in time to prevent a tragedy. Sometimes after passing what we thought was a reflector on a post by the road, we discover it was a buggy with people in it. You base your objections on your religion which you claim is based on the Bible. But you put us in danger and that certainly is not loving your neighbor as the Bible commands us to do. You say God will protect you. But in Matthew 4:7 Jesus quoted: Thou shalt not tempt (test) the Lord thy God. To refuse to use common sense safety precautions is testing God. The law of the land is letting you get away with endangering lives. By what means do you think you will get away with it when you face God? “For there is no respect of persons with God.” (Romans 2:11). Repent and “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.
