I’m astonished that we have to confront the possibility of minimum speeds as a safety issue on local highways like 11B (“Speed Up or Pull Over,” Sound Off, Feb. 8-14). As a committed pedestrian, I’d much rather be hit by a car going under 35 than one doing 55. Why is anyone “forced to pass recklessly”? Where is anyone on 11B going at 6:45 a.m. that compels them to go the maximum speed limit? Oh, come on, compulsive fools, spring’s coming, & 11B’s a pretty road. Throttle back & enjoy your ride to wherever -- no one in the North Country’s going to call you out for a 2-10 minutes’ longer drive.
