In response to “Workers Deserve Benefits,” all workers deserve reasonable retirement benefits. There should be parity between public sector workers and private sector workers. No silver spoon here, and during the ice storm I worked for seven days, 24/7, grabbing only two hours sleep at a time on a cement floor. In retirement I get no health insurance and my pension is 10 percent of my working salary. The current system where taxpayers provide gold-plated retirement programs to public employees while private sector employees get lead plated retirements must end.
