The people who voted no on the proposed school merger need a reality lesson! Both schools should now only fund bare bones required courses. No more sports! No more music! No more AP courses! No more debating teams! No more anything elective! No more after school programs. Offer only what is required by law. A year of austerity may teach people that change is necessary. Too many people defended the status quo because they don’t pay property taxes, but they do vote and so they voted against change. Too many people voted, but don’t understand the reality of needing to fund the outstanding education that has been offered at both Canton and Potsdam. They definitely didn’t understand that a no vote was against offering an expanded educational opportunity for the children of our communities. It’s time to assure reality orientation!
