I am at total loss as to why the Canton Village Board decided to place the realignment of Miner Street with Riverside Street on the back burner, calling it a low priority and not worth a serious look. Yes, it would cost a lot of money, but now, with the empty lot at the corner of Miner and Main streets, one has the opportunity of a lifetime to do the realignment. If the builders of the Nice N’ Easy convenience storeare really concerned about improving the traffic flow, safety, etc. of downtown Canton and public opinion, they should have no problem holding off on construction and working with the village to develop the best design for the relocated Miner Street and their store.
