We need a calling card...something to motivate people to the stores at the St. Lawrence Centre mall. Frankly…soap, candles, and the like are more of a one-time specialty purchase. What about looking at our public needs, looking past the entertainment factor. Can you picture a good quality consignment, or second hand furniture store? Many can’t afford even low quality items of some local stores, but needs being met with furniture, bedding, along those lines. We need to evaluate our true public needs. How about a surplus food bank? There are many food distributers available outside of the immediate area. Let us look beyond and see what is truly available to help our town. It could serve as a meeting area for self help groups…or GED assistance. I could go on but I see the value of this mall area to have a future and grow with the public needs.
