I was driving between Parishville and Colton the other evening.
I came around a corner and saw a bonfire going.
I thought, a nice night for that...cool, no bugs, great times.
As I got closer, I realized that the people were burning a box spring and mattress.
Needless to say, that shot my idea of a nice evening.
Is this what the people want, for those that cannot afford to get rid of their items properly to burn them? I don’t think so.
To add to this, the next day, I was going to work and took a shortcut off of State Route 345 and came across a pile of brush that had been dumped by the side of the road, and there seemed to be other things with it.
But I remember thinking that it was odd that people didn’t burn what they could and others burned what they shouldn’t.
The state is in a mess and people are more confused than ever about what they can and can’t do.
