In response to “Colleges Important to Local Economy” (May 16-22), I was delighted to see the letter to the editor supporting the two Potsdam universities. They do make Potsdam special. But the universities should financially, voluntarily contribute to the village. I couldn’t help but notice that the writer of the letter, supporting the universities, lives in Hannawa where the writer gets the advantages without bearing the extraordinary, excessive tax burden.
