This needs a resolution. The hospital, a business for profit, continues to use Waverly Street for parking. I’m not sure what level this needs to go for a fix. Maybe the Governor’s office? The code officer was not interested. The police only enforce existing laws. The village continues to cater to this private enterprise. Every winter I watch the snow plows attempt to plow the street, instead they create 2 foot high ridges down the middle because hospital employees line the street. This time of year it’s the street cleaner. Yesterday the village street cleaner was diverted around all the vehicles, leaving the majority of the curbs loaded with sand. The emergency vehicles lack of access to homes. Poor planning and management created this overcrowding. The fix isn’t a new idea, snow removal and sand removal should be done on schedules posted on street signs. The hard working village employees should have access to the curbs or cars are towed. Period. The police ticket vehicles left curb side on Waverly Street during the evening hours. Why is that? Why does a Waverly Street resident get a ticket for parking in front of their own home during the evening hours but a hospital employee can park in front of the same house all day legally? It’s time to post signs and designate days to care for the street like every other congested area.
