I’m not sure about you but I am really sick and tired hearing about “poor” teachers. I challenge you to Google “NYS Teacher salaries.” Then you can scroll to find your county and school district. I chose the Potsdam School District. The median income is $57,422. Starting is $40,000 and the teachers who have been there for a while it is $73,830. Add this to freebies like “almost” free health insurance and not working year-round. You never hear people saying “poor nurse’s aides, poor custodians, poor kitchen staff…the truly POOR ones! And these last few ones that I have listed work all year long, weekends, holidays, and can not afford health care! Sad.
