What should of been an enjoyable Tuesday evening became a night of fear as far as proper parenting and respect for living things. Teenagers swearing. Kids throwing rocks at seagulls and each other … while their parents are paying attention to one thing -- their cell phones. The most disheartening part was the two young children running around dragging two kittens with them. Flinging them down the slides, throwing rocks at them, handling them very harmfully and at one point a child tripped and landed on one. In asking the mother if she was worried about the care and safety of the kittens, her comment was complete ignorance. Ten seconds later her son fell and landed on a kitten. Kittens aren't stuffed animals; they don't belong at the playground with young children. They are baby animals. Please use your head and model proper care and respect for animals for your children.
