In Response to the Sound Off from 2/22 entitled, "Women Will Be Okay With Planned Parenthood," I just have to ask the author if they are aware of the "Medicaid gap?" In New York State, if you are a single woman you cannot make more than $1367/month to get Medicaid. That means that anyone who makes over this amount is ineligible. If you work full time at minimum wage, you make $1552 a month. So... how would this person be able to afford rent, food, utilities, bills, and healthcare (even with the ACA.) So the sliding fee scale that is available at Planned Parenthood (and no where else) is essential.
