Holy hyperbole Batman! “Contain Cats” did not mention cat euthanasia, and what’s that got to do with Hitler’s genocide of “6 million Jews?” The only mention of cat death was an unfortunate hit-and-run, that would not have happened if the cat wasn’t loose, and a snarky coy-dogs warning. Cats can spread disease; and the CDC cautions pregnant women about cleaning litter boxes and gardening. “Cats play an important role in the spread of toxoplasmosis.” says the CDC website. Infected cats pass the parasite through their feces, and infection can cause serious health problems for pregnant women and persons with compromised immune systems. I agree mankind has damaged our planet more than any other species, but there is a double standard with canine and feline control. Free roaming cats are hardly benign, yet most places don’t require any cat licensing or restriction of movement but have rules about registering and controlling dogs. Before you call me a “cat hater”, I enjoy both cats and dogs, and have shared my home with both...at the same time. Cats and dogs living together, oh my!
