I find the planned “Permissive Referendum” relative to the town of Potsdam’s recreation program oddly amusing in that a previous “referendum” held relative to the new town hall returned a resounding no new town hall! Now the up coming permissive referendum will be held in the new town hall. It appears that the key word is “permissive” in that the town board in all its infinite wisdom ignored the basic right of the majority and dictated their personal interests. I wonder where the powers that be stand on this issue. Oh well; I am sure that they have the best interest of the public at heart since they refer to their political “transparency” quite frequently.
