Regarding “Blame Pep Band” (Dec. 1-7), I can attest that the pep band is required to play over vulgar chants by the student body. The student body needs to knock off the chants so the band doesn’t have to play over them. As far as the home announcer goes, this is a non-issue. The announcer makes an announcement one stoppage, then the band plays during the next stoppage. They alternate (there is a system) and when the system is violated, Cheel workers yell at the band, which the band does not want. So the band follows the system Cheel put in place. Complaining about that is like complaining that there aren’t enough commercials during your favorite TV show. The band is doing everything they can to provide a positive atmosphere, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
