In response to the "Back Off, be Safe" Soundoff regarding passing on the right, is not illegal in New York in specific circumstances. Section 1123 of the NYS vehicle and traffic law states clearly that it is quite legal to pass a vehicle on the right if that vehicle is turning left or about to turn left. It is also legal to pass on the right when there are multiple lanes of travel flowing in the same direction. Contrary to popular belief it is not illegal to pass on the right in these situations.
