I don’t understand why it is so difficult to find an overnight parking spot in Potsdam when students are here. Every fall and spring it is impossible to find an overnight parking space. I have a pile of parking tickets, all because I had to park in an area where you get a ticket after 3 a.m. Not only that, but living on Market Street by the bars, the overnight parking closest to my apartment is off Depot Street. These spots are not only always full but they are packed with cars, spaced out just enough that you can’t park between them. Why are there no parking lines back there? I have driven down back of my apartment countless nights, only to find that there are more spaces than I can count on my fingers that I could have parked...but the spot is maybe a foot or two, too narrow for me to fit my tiny car. If there were lines, this wouldn’t happen. There should be lines in all the over night parking lots, and more overnight parking spaces.
