In response to “Gas Gouging,” which appeared in the “Oct. 12-18 issue of North Country This Week: it is a known fact that New York state tax on gas is one of the highest in the country. Comparing the price of gasoline to neighboring states is hard to judge but keep in mind that taxes play a big role when the final price is posted. I do not support price gouging, but our New York tax on gas makes the price to be higher than surrounding states. Thank you Gov. Cuomo and Assemblywoman Addie Russell!
