I disagree with you the view that there is too much police presence in Potsdam and Canton area. Just recently there was a person who was beaten by four men who were later identified to be students at SUNY Canton. That took good police investigation work, not lazy inept cops. Also in Potsdam there just was a homicide at a Maple street apartment complex where Potsdam police arrived to find two students in a dispute where the male was in a fit of rage stabbing his girlfriend when ordered by police numerous times to stop. He was shot and killed. The officer then called for EMS then performed life saving measures until they arrived. I'm speaking from past experience, these men and women have a hard job and don't get paid enough if you've never been in there shoes don't run them down!
