Unwarranted phone calls waste Potsdam police time

With all of the concern regarding resources in the Village of Potsdam, I would think that there would be less nonsensical reports in the daily police blotter. Over and over there are blatant examples of people with nothing better to do than to call the police to report someone “suspicious.”

Yesterday apparently someone was stopped on Market Street by the police as they had been reported as being suspicious.

This person turned out to be looking for a valid after-hours parking space within the village.

Please stop wasting the police force’s time, and maybe we would not need so many officers.

A recent public comment stated that “This is not Mayberry anymore.” That is correct, in Mayberry nobody would call the police on you for looking for a parking spot.
