Several residents of Riverview Towers say they want smoke free housing: “With all the education about smoking habits, I am concerned with all the second-hand smoke in my apartment building. Second hand smoke kills. Smoke gets past fans, vents, and door stoppers. There is no way to control where it spreads to. It has such an effect on our health and well-being. We need help making our apartments smoke-free.“ “Over the years I have lost friends and loved ones due to smoking and I would appreciate it if you would make their building smoke free, not only for myself but for all.” “I used to live at River View Towers in Ogdensburg for 10 years. The apartment was very nice and I loved it, except for cigarette smoke. It was horrible. It was everywhere. It made my nose and throat burn. My oxygen levels became so low that I must now be on oxygen. I had to move out.”
