Years ago our North Country looked up to Massena: The three big plants for employment, the Seaway for tourism along with an international airport to name a few reasons. What has happened since the big two of three industries have left our area…(Alcoa will leave next year if Schumer and Cuomo do not extend the deal...remember it is election year.) Massena headlines in local papers are about drug deals gone sour, along with drug arrests, shootings and stabbings. The local hospital seems in direst. What is left? What a joke that Massena thinks that the 20 acres of GM property will bail this community out. Massena’s crystal ball shows a dying community with no future.
