In the past month the District Attorney has been accused of committing two felonies, one for allowing the unauthorized practice of law for an intern, and a second for disclosing grand jury testimony. I am happy to see the legislators ask for an investigation into her removal, but which police agency is going to investigate her crimes? Just because she is a prosecutor she should not get a free pass. Anybody else would be charged and arrested already. What happened to being suspended pending the investigation like other public servants? I am sure Mary Rain will find someone else to blame since nothing is ever her fault. She needs to resign and go quietly away. The alternative is she will bring more bad press on our county and she will end up going down in flames, hopefully without a license to practice law so she can’t do harm to other people, and maybe she will even go to jail. I urge everyone to ask the governor to act quickly to prevent further suffering because of an incompetent DA. We cannot wait another 20 months for justice in our county.
