The NorthCountryNow.com survey asking what safety measures residents took with escaped killers on the loose was laughable. There has been a murderer on the loose in Potsdam for several years now. Garret Philips was murdered Oct. 24, 2011, and no one has been convicted of the murder. Although the signs maybe faded, they are still around town; we should all want justice for Garrett. We are beyond the point of thinking that the guilty party’s conscience would have demanded a confession. The killer has demonstrated no remorse. As a community, we should never forget Garrett or that a murderer walks our streets.
