In response to “Don’t Cut Recess Monitors at Norwood-Norfolk” (Letter, June 1-7): I’m glad this was cut. Why aren’t teachers doing recess duty? When I was in school, teachers brought their students outside. My child attends school at Norwood and gets about 15 minutes to eat (with jacket and hat on in winter). She never finishes her lunch and then is rushed out to play. So the teachers get a 40-minute lunch and no supervision of recess. Come on. I say, kudos to the NNCS board of education and administration. Thanks for being fiscally responsible and keeping money in reserve for our school to remain open longer.
