There has been a lot of talk about McDonalds in Canton closing. It is always sad to see any business close its doors. It is what it is; love it or hate it. For so many it was a great place to meet and have a pleasant coffee hour or two. A lot of people will really miss it. Sure McDonalds has its share of controversy from the quality of their food to the criticism of how they pay their workers; especially with the fast food worker raises coming up. For one thing, they punch a time clock and are always at work on time. Not true for a lot of businesses. It is hard to get enough hours in to pay your bills or make a livable wage. At least they are working. So many of them have to subsidize their incomes with government assistance, and this too has brought on much criticism. It is not always the workers with no life goals or intelligence that work in fast food, for so many it is a job and it helps people get by one way or another. After all, they could be home not contributing to society and totally living off the taxpayers.
