Missing dog

On Dec. 7, between 6 and 6:30 p.m., someone or a group, traveled down the road I live on in West Potsdam and decided to help themselves to our property. That property was our 12-year old, sable and white, rough coat (long haired) dog, a collie. As any dog owner will know, each animal, especially purebreds come with their own set of problems. For the collie, hip dysplasia is a common and debilitating and greatly increases over time. Our family dog, Rusty, suffers from it. Which translates to, he does not have the mobility he used to have. When whoever showed up, they would have had to help him in the vehicle. Rusty may have barked, but his voice is so soft, it would not have been heard unless we were outside. Rusty always took an early evening constitutional and walk, lasting about one hour. And I cannot help but think that the kidnapping of our dog was just a random act. Whoever took him knew he would be out there around that time. We searched for him for two and a half hours in the cold. Checking to make sure he had not gotten sick and could not get up. My sister and brother-in-law help search our properties with flashlights and vehicle headlights. This was all for naught. The next morning we searched again, all those areas, not well illuminated by our small lights, we went and talked to the neighbors, but no one had seen Rusty. We posted his picture on Facebook and at the Potsdam Humane society. Friends and friends-of-friends are posting Rusty’s picture all over. So far there are no leads. We want our Rusty back. What may be just a dog to whoever took him, Rusty is a member of our family. You were big enough to walk on our property to take Rusty, can you be man/woman enough to return him to our family?
