In response to “Merger Not the Answer,” agreed! Merging Canton and Potsdam schools is so beyond ridiculous, for the reasons you stated. It would make more sense to merge a smaller school with a larger one, not two of the biggest school districts in the county. What happens with sports? The teams would have to travel to farther away to places like Watertown, Lowville and Syracuse. And the long daily bus ride for some kids...really? I fail to see the logic. I don’t know, maybe I’m missing something! I disagree with the threats of money running out, believe me, there is always money, we just have to fight for what’s right for the North Country, instead of giving in to the bullies in Albany.
