Leave clocks alone

In response to “Seasonal Convenience,” which ran in the March 21 issue of North Country This Week, you should do research. You would find that there have been numerous studies done and that there is a cost associated with Daylight Saving Time. In 2012, University of Alabama found that heart attack rates increased by 10% the Monday and Tuesday following the change to DST. Another study by a Washington University neuroscientist shows that adjusting clocks forward one hour corresponds with a significant increase in traffic accidents and heart attacks over the next two to three days. Another study in The Journal of Open Heart showed an increase of heart attacks by 24% the Monday after the change to Daylight Saving Time; and showed a drop of heart attack rates by 21% on the change back to normal time. To the people that want another hour of daylight, just get up an hour earlier and leave the clocks alone!
