In response to “Who is in Power?” the represents good and responsible people as if they are stupid or violent. Give some credit to both the SUNY Potsdam president and the POWER group. POWER's protest actions were respectful and well-organized -- not violent, illegal, or terroristic in the least. They used the freedom of speech and association that our country stands for. They are working to improve the campus community for all -- as POWER leaders said in a recent Watertown Times interview. POWER raised important issues -- which many have discussed for years --- but in the midst of a broad and vicious death threat. They negotiated rationally with the president, who is perfectly capable of weighing all the factors and working with others in coming to decisions. Let's work together to make the most of the opportunities that the village and campus communities have to offer each other.
