The DEC is so stupid: first they don't give out any doe permits to St. Lawrence County. Next they tell hunters that are lucky enough to see bucks to not to shoot them, but to pass on them for more mature older rack bucks. This could be solved by issuing doe permits, There are not enough hunters anymore to hunt and a lack of enthusiasm for the sport killed by games has done it in. If a young hunter is out there hunting and is lucky to see a legal buck, then shoot it. My dad hunted for over a dozen years and never saw a buck. The DEC needs to issue permits in St. Lawrence County.
