Our kids are too young to care if their Christmas comes from the dollar store; they enjoyed last year without complaint. But this year we can’t even afford the dollar store. So I’ve been searching Google for local Christmas charities, only to find they all offer contact info to donate but no way to ask for help. I see signs, boxes, and bell ringers at every store in town for donations but where do all those gifts go? Why is asking for help so hard to do? It’s hard enough to admit we need the help let alone to go door-to-door begging.
