On a recent morning as I hurriedly made my way to work in Canton, I was stopped by the highway department to participate in a survey! It was not optional as they had traffic backed up for half a mile. I’d like to know when the Gestapo started running NYSDOT! Where do they get off jeopardizing my employment by making me late for work in a mandatory survey? If they wanted my opinion, why did they not give me a postmarked, addressed postcard with a few questions that I could have dropped off at my leisure. I feel that NYS has overstepped its legal boundaries, by forcing motorists to be delayed at their convenience. I wish they could get it through their heads that while they build and maintain the roads for us taxpayers, the taxpayers are still the ones that are paying for it! I find this blatant disregard for the voting constituents of this United States of America to be a personal slap in the face.
