To the person upset with food choices in the North Country; you have yet to discover the Potsdam Food Co-op. With a diabetic in our family, we needed a place to buy food not loaded up with high fructose corn syrup, other sugars and chemicals. You can buy sweet treats from the bakery at the Co-op—don’t get me wrong; but they also make great whole grain breads. They have a deli that makes granola, salads and wraps. Like you, I love the farmers’ market, but the rest of the week the Co-op is my spot for local vegetables, fruit, honey, cheese, meat. It is kind of like an indoor farmers’ market, open year-round and you don’t have to be a member to shop. You can even get plants there to start your own garden. Check it out and stay healthy, all year long.
