Editor's Note: The Letter to the Editor “Put Me in Charge of Welfare” r is nearly identical to a letter to the editor posted Nov. 18, 2010 on WacoTrib.com and signed by Alfred W. Evans, Gatesville. Other versions of this letter have appeared in numerous locations online.
I agree with “Put Me in Charge of Welfare” which appeared in the April 2-8 issue of North Country This Week: sadly enough people have come to feel they are entitled to these government hand outs and love to tug on bleeding hearts for support. I have said for years if you are going to get paid by the government with SNA/welfare; for your benefit have pride in yourself. You should be willing to pick up trash/paint buildings ext. After all, we don't want you feeling like second-class citizens.
