I have to say that I am very upset about this. My family and I drove to a friend’s house today and saw this poor goose completely stuck in ice, flopping and flailing trying to free itself. I called the DEC emergency response number for someone to help this injured animal and no luck, no one was available or could be dispatched to help. After making several phone calls to different DEC officers, the message said, “contact the Emergency response center.” I have to honestly say that the Brasher Falls Fire Dept. should be ashamed for letting this go as it probably was someone’s pet. I am thoroughly upset over this. Maybe someone should be held accountable for animal cruelty seeing how it has been two weeks now, and still nothing has been done! This poor animal has suffered long enough. It’s time to either make the attempt and rescue it or put the poor helpless animal down.
