Here we go again with the bible says this, the bible says that. It seems that people only want to quote it when it comes to sex between two consenting same sex adults or abortion. For crying out loud folks, if we quoted the bible for everything everyone did wrong we’d have a lot of people in mortal fear for their eternal lives, now wouldn’t we? Don’t steal, don’t covet thy neighbor’s wife, don’t honor other Gods. Yes, I’m a wayward Catholic. My problem with hiding behind the bible is that men wrote it, not God. And they wrote the bible to serve their needs. I believe in God, I believe in Jesus and I hardly think that Jesus would take to kindly to some of the crap that is spewed from all of our lips. Do unto others as you would have done to you is still the golden rule. If what the bible says is true about him, he really was a great guy who wanted to do right by his family and his general public. Think on that the next time you hide behind the word. It’s the action that counts, right or wrong.
