With the popularity of barefoot running growing, more and more people are going barefoot in everyday life. Some think it’s gross, or whatever, but educate yourself before you judge! I know there is a guy locally who does it all the time. I’ve seen him all over Potsdam and Canton, even in colder weather! I’ve started to try it too, and decided to educate myself about the practice. Some businesses have signs up saying that it is against the health code to enter barefoot. This is not true. NY state health department has no orders or regulations prohibiting it. Remember though…private business owners are free to set their own policies. It may not be against the law…but if a business posts it, or asks, you have to wear footwear.
