In response to the note regarding the purchase of Girl Scout Cookies I would like to provide some facts to help clarify people’s decision as to whether or not to purchase cookies. The cost of the box of cookies in the NYPENN Pathways Girl Scout Council of $3.50/box is distributed in the following way: $0.94 cost of the box of cookies, $0.55-0.70 troop earnings, $0.12 Girl Reward Program and $1.84 Membership, Program and Volunteer Services (which provides funding for troop program events, support services, adult recruitment and trainings, and maintenance of council properties). The girls involved in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are participating in the largest girl-led business in the country and they develop business and leadership skills that last a lifetime. Please be supportive of the annual Girl Scout Cookie sale. Thank you, from all the girls and adults from Raquette Valley Girl Scout Service Unit.
