The North Country continues to be a changing region. Many have left the area, tax assessments have risen, and fewer are being called on to pay more for less. For example, in Canton, the school has seen the emptying of many classrooms, with drastic cuts in programs and services. Though a great public effort was made, little changed on the economic outlook, resulting in the possibility of another tax increase.
