I find it deeply concerning that a confessed murder is wandering around on bail. And the last few pedophiles arrested were given the equivalent of a slap on the wrist by our court system. It is time, as citizens of this county; we begin to examine the elected officials we have put our faith and tax dollars in. Their decisions indicate that they are not interested in justice. They are not interested in protecting the children of this county. The alignment of their sympathies is clear in the sentences metered out to the most horrific of criminals. It is any wonder that after six months the killer of young Garrett (Phillips) is still wondering our streets? The Potsdam police have had changes in personnel. The case has been handed over to state police. This is nothing but slight of hand to make the paperwork and evidence disappear. Has St. Lawrence County become so corrupt that as long as you have enough money you can get away with murder and rape? It is time to stop accepting this! It is time that we take a good hard look at the values and ethics of those who have the power to keep murders off our streets and pedophiles behind bars.
