In response to “Cat Haters” wow, how can a mean-spirited cat-killing campaign down south be logically compared to killing the Jews during the WW II? Where did all that come from? That's quite a stretch. Who said anything about killing cats in the first place? The point is that by being a responsible pet owner, you are protecting your cat. Don't let your cats run loose and they won't get hit by cars. If they are loose and get hit, you sure can't blame the poor motorist. If you doubt that cats are being wrongly accused of having a major impact on wild bird mortality, suggest you look up the January 29, 2013 copy of Science New online. In that issue the results of a study suggest that free roaming cats are responsible for killing between 1.3 billion and 4 billion wild birds each year in the United States alone.
