In response to “Amish Buggies,” which ran in the April 22 edition of North Country This Week, I was disappointed to see a negative letter about Amish buggies. Personally I do not agree with all of the Amish rules and customs; but I do not believe in thrusting my customs upon them. They are practicing religious freedom. They do pay taxes also. They use non-motorized vehicles. If they are forced to have lights, then I want lights on the entire New York State deer herd. Coyotes too. Amish have reflectors, good enough.
