I don't want to keep harping on the St. Mary's controversy, but I must put in my two cents and rebut “Cemetery Controversy,” which appeared in the June 22-28 issue of North Country This Week: You stated that St. Mary's didn't view the articles as holy only the owners did. Well, you must not have gone up to look with your own eyes or watched the evening news, but there were about a dozen American flags tossed on the ground in a pile like trash, that was disturbing. To me our flag is the most sacred thing in America. Let me remind you all, the flag comes before religion, so that we which we have the right to choose from many religions! I served in the military for a number of years, had the opportunity to do flag detail and learned right away that the flag never ever hits the ground.
