Boy, the responses to whether or not to promote the fishing industry (NCNow Survey, May 4-11) here were refreshing (and sad but true) to see so many backers of my own opinion. I used to be a huge large & small mouth bass fisherman in the “holes” upriver from Morristown. They’re all gone now. Last time I went fishing, I had hundreds of carp jumping out of the water and hitting the sides of my boat. The last straw was when they scared the bejeepers out of the kids by schooling past them off our beach. There’s still no fishing left; and it won’t come back as long as the river can’t get a chance to clean itself. Sold the camp years ago.
